
On Saturday, February 3rd, 12 Orangefield High School choir students competed in the UIL Solo/Ensemble contest at Vidor High School. Natalie Roach, Christa Kyle, Jose Salinas, and Kadence Kressman brought home Excellent ratings. A superior rating was given to Tessa Bailey. Also receiving superior ratings and advancing to the State Solo and Ensemble contest were Katelynn Copeland, Jayde Baggett, Diana Burns, Landon Dickens, Aiden Young, and Dalyn Miller. The State Solo and Ensemble contest is in Pflugerville in late May.

LCM Powerlifting Meet Results


In their first tournament of 2024, our Bobcat Freshmen had a tremendous showing. The team of Izzy Mills/Cooper Dorman dominated the completion on their way to a 1st place finish in Mixed Doubles. Brycen Amy/Gunnar Griffin and Dak Sims lost to the Champs in their divisions, but they all rallied to medal in the consolation draw for Boys Doubles and Singles. Ava Walker also played well advancing in the main draw in Girls Singles before dropping a match to a strong player from PNG.




🚨OHS 🏀 Game Schedule Change!🚨


This week local high school golf teams traveled to compete in the Vidor Invitational, the first tournament of the season. First place went to Carthage’s Jett Surratt, shooting an even par 72, followed by Orangefield’s Lincoln Parks taking 2nd place, shooting a 1 over par 73.

This past weekend 19 students participated at the Region 10 UIL Solo and Ensemble contest held at Lumberton High School. 4 students earned 1st Divisions on solos and 9 students earned 1st divisions on ensembles. Of those, 11 students advanced to State Solo and Ensemble Contest in May in Pflugerville, TX over Memorial Day weekend.

Thursday, January 25, 2024, Orangefield High School hosted a financial night for seniors and their parents. Lamar University financial aid department presented important information about the FAFSA which is now a high school requirement.



HOSA-Future Health Professional students traveled to Barbers Hill High School to represent OHS at our first ever Spring Leadership Conference. Students competed in the following events: Health Career Display Poster, Prepared Speaking, Medical Art Poster, and Personal Care Skills. Katie Guyote walked away with 1st place in her event, Personal Care, and an invitation to compete at the HOSA State Conference in April. These future health professionals took a leap of faith and stepped into the unknown. They should all be proud, as they have paved the path for future OHS HOSA students.

Schedule Update


Orangefield High School debaters Calvin Kelly and Sidney Holderman competed at the State UIL Congressional Debate Meet on January 10, 2024. Debaters Major Copeland and Colton Myers attended the event as alternates. Students were chaperoned by OHS Debate Sponsor Bridget Trahan and OHS UIL Coordinator Misty Bellard. The group toured the Texas Museum of Science and Natural History on the University of Texas - Austin campus.




Students in Mrs. Kimberly Spears' Education and Training classes would like to thank former OHS students, Kaydance Whitfield and Asia Tran. Both young ladies are currently continuing their education with plans to pursue careers working with children. They came and spoke to the classes about the Education & Training pathway, endorsements, and the Educational Aide certification. They also shared college expectations and skills gained from Family and Consumer Science classes and how they are benefiting them now.



Attention all OHS Track Athletes!


The HOSA-Future Health Professionals student organization along with the Health Science classes at OHS made Christmas cards and collected items to be donated to local long term living facilities, Focused Care and Stonewood. The HOSA officers delivered the items that will be used to spread holiday cheer. We wish the residents and staff a very Merry Christmas from OHS!



The National FFA awarded Orangefield High School a $3700.00 grant to purchase welding equipment for the CTE program. We appreciate the National FFA helping prepare our students for the workforce.
