Please make sure your student’s Chromebook is fully charged, they get a good night’s sleep, and have a healthy breakfast in the morning. We want them to be at their best for the test! Please also note that visitors will not be allowed to eat lunch with students on STAAR testing days.
Thank you for your support!

On April 5th, 9 members of the Orangefield JH Choir travelled to Groves Middle School to compete in the UIL MS Solo contest. All 9 students were awarded Superior ratings and medals for all of their hard work. Congratulations to Whitney Aylor, Kylee Barnett, Madison Bright, Ayden Dickey, Donna Hall, McKinley Hinson, Jaci Waldrep, and Haylee Wolf (not pictured: Taylor Barber). Congratulations to all!!

Our OJH 7th grade scholars went searching for treasure this week while practicing for the upcoming STAAR Reading test. Students began with their treasure hunt journal and clues to find treasure cards that gave them more clues to assist in deciphering the passages.

Happy Paraprofessional Day to the amazing Orangefield Junior High Paraprofessionals! Thank you for everything you do—your hard work and support mean the world to our students and teachers. In big ways and small, you serve our community and brighten our days!

Congratulations to the 5th Six Weeks Orangefield Junior High Brightest Bobcats! These students are selected on two criteria: they give great effort in all that they do, and they have a fantastic attitude each day. 6th Grade: Carson Castolenia, 7th Grade: John Moore, 8th Grade: Audrey Broussard.

Congratulations to Orangefield Junior High student Eli Peltier for being the 5th six weeks winner of our “Awesome Attendance Award”. In addition to receiving a certificate of recognition, Eli will receive a laptop as a reward for his consistent presence on our campus. Thank you, Eli, for coming to school every day ready to lead and learn!

OJH Stuco is hosting a Glow-in-the-Dark Dance this Friday, April 4th from 6 to 9pm. Only OJH students may attend. Admission is $5 (please bring small bills if possible). Concessions and glow sticks will be available for purchase.

The 6th grade students at OJH competed in a March MATHness competition to review all of the math they have been taught through this year. The 2 finalists, Audrey Greenfield and Olivia Cole, competed head to head in front of their classmates to win it all. Congratulations to Olivia Cole for winning the bracket!

Orangefield Junior High is home to the hardest-working staff in Texas! Our faculty works tirelessly to provide a safe, effective learning environment for each and every student. Many of our faculty members received nominations for this spotlight, but we want to take a moment to specifically highlight one of our hardest workers: Kristen Sparks. Affectionately known as "Sparkles" to some of us, she serves as our diagnostician with grace. She supports our campus and community by ensuring that every student has access to an equitable education. Every day, she aids teachers with effective teaching strategies that empower our students. Thank you, Kristen Sparks, for your continued hard work!

The artwork will compete in a contest against other area schools. The student artists' work chosen to represent OJH are Major Butler, Zayden Johnson, Avery Aulich, and Maddie Breaux.
Awesome artwork Bobcats!

Attention OJH Parents/Guardians: Due to TTAP testing tomorrow for 6th and 8th students, no one will be permitted to eat lunch with their student. You may still drop off food at the table in the lobby.

On Thursday, Mr. Chuck Davis of the West Orange Animal Shelter visited Mrs. Castillo’s 8th grade Principles of Ag. classes!
Mr. Davis taught the students about his career and its impact on our area, the importance of responsible animal ownership, and even brought some adoptable puppies as well!
As a small thank you, students in Mrs. Castillo’s classes designed adoption flyers to try and help the dogs at the West Orange Animal Shelter find their “furever” homes!
Thank you again to Mr. Davis for all that he does for our area and taking the time to come and educate our Bobcats!

Each student who attended OJH's book fair Family Night was entered into a drawing to win a "Bag of Books" 📚 Emma Lecea was our winner!! Congratulations Emma!
